Pardee Faculty Fellow Kevin Gallagher Presents in South America
Pardee Faculty Fellow Kevin P. Gallagher gave several presentations in South America in July related to his research on the economic ties between China and Latin America, as well as his work on the Pardee Task Force Report on Regulating Global Capital Flows for Long-Run Development.
On July 17 he gave a presentation titled “China and Latin America: Reward and Risk” at the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, in Santiago, Chile.
On July 18, he presented the Pardee Task Force Report on Regulating Global Capital Flows to the Department of Economics at the University of Chile
And on July 25, he presented the Pardee Task Force Report at the Central Bank of Argentina.
Prof. Gallagher was in a visiting scholar at The Center for the Study of the State and Society in Buenos Aires, Argentina for six weeks in June and July. During his time there, he co-chaired a workshop on the compatibility between regulations for managing capital flows and the trading system. A report from that workshop will be published by the Pardee Center later this year.
